I sure hope the people I know would be stronger in case of taunts and abuse but I can't be sure.
I don't care what anyone does in the privacy of their home. But isn't it the real problem? We don't have that much privacy in this century...
I would be upset if my private life was dragged all over the place, but no one pays my bill for me so I'd give the finger to the person that believes it is a matter of public knowledge and move on (well I may retaliate a bit... but honestly, I don't owe anything to anyone and if my family can't live with the info, they don't have to read it or give it any weight.
in any case, I sure hope that if I'd recognize someone in need of help, I'd help, until then if anyone on my lj feels like spreading the words, don't hesitate...

It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 6 gay boys who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.
